Data Destruction

Secure data destruction, with a certificate for every drive.

We wipe or shred hard drives, SSDs, NVMe and tape from servers, storage, laptops and desktops, then give you a certificate per serial number that your auditors can check. Drives are collected in sealed, tracked transport and processed through our facilities in Berlin and the UK. Where your policy requires it, we destroy them on site instead.

Reply within one business day. NDA on request. Germany, the UK and across Europe.

Drives connected to a wiping station at the ReCircle Tech facility

Every serial accounted for. Each drive is logged at collection and matched to its own line on your certificate.

What we do

The right method for every drive.

Wiping keeps the value in working hardware. Shredding is for failed drives or data that must never come back. Most projects use both, and every drive ends up on the same certificate.

Data wiping

For drives worth reusing. Overwrite or cryptographic erase by media type, following NIST 800-88 guidelines, verified drive by drive. The hardware keeps its resale value.

  • HDD, SSD and NVMe
  • Verified on every drive
  • Resale value returned to you

Physical shredding

For failed, end-of-life or high-sensitivity media, and for policies that require physical destruction. Every drive is logged by serial before it is destroyed.

  • HDD, SSD, NVMe and tape
  • Failed and damaged drives
  • Logged before destruction

Collection and chain of custody

Sealed, tracked collection with logistics partners we have worked with for years. Every handover is recorded from your site to the final certificate.

  • Tamper-evident packaging
  • Serials logged at collection
  • Across Europe and between the EU and the UK

On-site destruction, if you need it

If drives cannot leave your building, we shred or wipe inside your facility in Germany and the UK, witnessed on request.

  • Witnessed on request
  • Same per-serial certificate
  • Germany and the UK
How it works

From collection to certificate.

Every step leaves a record, so your data protection officer has an answer before anyone asks.

Common questions

Data destruction FAQ

Wipe or shred: which do we need?

Wiping suits working drives you want to reuse or resell: the data goes, the value stays. Shredding is for failed drives, highly sensitive data or policies that require physical destruction. Many projects use both.

Does wiping really remove the data?

Yes, when the method matches the media type and follows the NIST 800-88 guidelines, and each drive is verified afterwards. That is how we wipe, and the result is recorded against every serial number.

Can you destroy drives at our site?

Yes, in Germany and the UK, witnessed on request. Most clients choose sealed, tracked collection instead, which is usually simpler to schedule. You get the same per-serial certificate either way.

What proof do we receive?

A certificate of destruction per serial number, a full asset report and chain of custody records. In the UK, WEEE paperwork as well.

Is your process GDPR compliant?

Yes. It is GDPR and UK GDPR compliant and gives you a per-device record to support Article 17 erasure obligations. Our processes are aligned with ISO 27001.

Do you work outside Germany and the UK?

Yes. We collect across Europe and between the EU and the UK. Further afield we deliver through our partner network, with the same reporting.
